Education is a critical component in ensuring success in adulthood, and should therefore be child-centered and focused on providing the background and tools for an individual to succeed.  The educational system must consider both academic development as well as personal growth and learning when applying policy.  Manufactured fringe issues detract from this priority, causing students’ education to suffer as a result.
